Make Your Own Acai Bowl

When the summer weather gets hot, cool down with your own acai bowl and save your money at the same time!

There’s nothing better than cooling yourself down with a revitalizing acai bowl. Not only is it an insta worthy meal, but they are also packed with superfoods and vitamins to nourish your body and leave you feeling great.

The only problem with this good looking meal is that they can be overpriced at most places. Save your money this summer, and make your own acai bowl by following just a simple few steps!



Ingredients:
This all depends on what flavor acai bowl you are in the mood for! There are plenty of recipes you can look up online. I’ll use my favorite Fruity/Berry Acai Bowl recipe….

  • 1 acai pouch (3.53 oz) , frozen and crushed

  • 1 banana, plus 1/2 cup sliced bananas for decoration

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1/2 cup apple juice (you could also use coconut milk, almond milk, or orange juice)

    • *Some people prefer to use less of a liquid base so it's thicker and easier to spoon, but it all depends on how you prefer the texture to be.

  • 1/3 cup blueberries

  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut

  • 1/3 cup granola, I used KIND dark chocolate granola

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seed

Preparation:

  • Combine acai, banana, strawberries, blueberries and chia seed in a blender.

  • Blend until smooth.

  • Spoon smoothie into your decorative bowl of choice.

  • Make it pretty!

    • Top with strawberries, blueberries, banana and granola.

  • Add more of preferred toppings

    • I like to sprinkle more chia and flax seed on top as a finishing touch.

  • Snap a pic and share with your friends.
